Who is the Therapist?
Cynthia graduated from the University of Central Florida with her Master’s degree
in Mental Health Counseling. She spent her internship at the University Counseling
Center working with the “Stronger Marriages, Stronger Families”, government grant.
The goals of the grant are to strengthen couples, marriages and family relationships.
The program continues to be a success for the University and our community.
Cynthia’s grant work also gave her the opportunity to counsel couples during weekend
workshops. These group workshops inspired her to focus on aiding couples and families
in strengthening their relationships. She pursued a certification in a Marriage
and Couples Program know as PREPARE/ENRICH, which is the modality of therapy she
practices.
Cynthia focused her energy in another aspect of relationships to support divorced
couples and their children. Her intent to advocate for children of divorce led her
to pursue a Certification in Parent Coordination. Her goal is to foster a constructive
post-divorce parental alliance offering children of divorce the opportunity to grow
in a home environment free from being caught in the middle of parental discord.
Other areas of her practice include depression, anxiety and bi-polar disorders.
Cynthia is a member of The American Counseling Association, The Florida Mental Health
Counselors Association and The Cooperative Parenting Institute. She continues her
education in Co-Parenting for divorced couples and Children of Divorce through professional
conventions and lectures.
